The 2027 Cadillac OPTIQ-V: Cadillac's Boldest Electric Statement Yet
October 06 2026,
Putting a V-Series badge on an EV raises the bar considerably, and the 2027 Cadillac OPTIQ-V seems to know it. Efficiency numbers, including a Cadillac-estimated 447 km of range, only tell part of the story here. The rest comes down to how the SUV responds when you actually push it, from acceleration to braking to chassis behaviour under real driving conditions. Starting from $82,518*, it is Cadillac's argument that performance and electrification were never meant to be at odds.
650 LB-FT Arrives Without Waiting
Electric torque is already known for arriving quickly, and the 2027 Cadillac OPTIQ-V makes full use of it. Its dual-motor AWD system can produce a Cadillac-estimated 650 lb-ft of torque in Velocity Max. Pair Velocity Max with Launch Control and Cadillac estimates the OPTIQ-V can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.5 seconds. That gives this compact luxury EV numbers that make the V badge feel like much more than an appearance upgrade.
The Chassis Gets the V-Series Treatment
Speed is more useful when the rest of the vehicle is prepared for it. Cadillac says the chassis and drive-system hardware and software were reengineered for the OPTIQ-V. Continuous Damping Control uses adaptive valve-based damper technology to help isolate occupants from road imperfections, while six-piston Brembo performance front brake calipers bring serious stopping hardware into the package. Driver Modes also allow chassis tuning, including Cadillac-exclusive V-Mode.
447 KM Keeps Performance Practical

The performance focus has not pushed range aside. Cadillac estimates up to 447 km of range on a full charge with AWD. The standard NACS charging port supports home charging and public DC fast charging, while compatible non-NACS chargers can be accessed with a GM-approved adapter. As a public DC fast charger, the OPTIQ-V can add up to an estimated 114 km of range in about 10 minutes. An available 11.5 kW Level 2 wall charger can add up to an estimated 50 km of range per hour.
Super Cruise Comes Standard
Technology goes well beyond the powertrain. Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance capability is standard, with a three-year OnStar One plan included. The system is designed for compatible roads and conditions and remains a driver-assistance technology, so driver attention is still required. For longer journeys, however, it gives the OPTIQ-V another distinctly premium piece of technology.
19 Speakers Bring Dolby Atmos Along
Cadillac has given the audio experience similar attention. A 19-speaker AKG Studio Audio System with Dolby Atmos creates a multidimensional listening experience inside the cabin. The OPTIQ-V even has its own EV V-Series sounds, including a unique E-Rev sound when the vehicle is in Park or Neutral.
Carbon Fibre Makes the V Badge Visible
A genuine carbon fibre interior accent comes standard, while available carbon fibre exterior components include the front splitter, rear spoiler and rear diffuser. The Mondrian pattern on the rear quarter glass references Cadillac's V-Series identity, while the available Santorini Blue Accent Package adds another way to personalize the cabin.
